With us, you can learn the exciting water sport of kitesurfing in the exotic setting of a traditional Moroccan harbor with a splendid view over the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.

Kitesurfing is one of the coolest sports you can do on the water. But how do you get started?

What is kitesurfing?

Kitesurfing is a water sport that combines a kite and a board to propel you through the water. Despite its name, you don't need a wave spot to practice it. You can go kiteboarding in flat lagoons, rough seas or big waves. All you need is wind and water.

Kitesurfing is a lot of fun, and the progression is just as intense. Once you've mastered the rudiments of equipment and wind, you can start to pick up speed and even jump while performing tricks. Then, riding down the waves or away from the coast is an even more motivating possibility.

What physical condition is required for kitesurfing?

You don't need to be a bodybuilder to kitesurf. A kit is pretty light, so there's no need to bulk up accordingly. However, a good level of general fitness will help you progress more quickly, give you more endurance on the water and help you avoid injury.

Do I have to take lessons?

Yes. Any kiteboarder who respects the sport will readily agree that beginner lessons are essential. In addition to helping you get up on the board, a good instructor will provide you with essential know-how and safety procedures. Without this knowledge, you're a danger to yourself and others, whether on the water or on the beach.

Where can you get personalized instruction?

Ocean vibes is a better kitesurfing school. Most of them allow you to book online. We offer everything from weekday and weekend lessons to longer-term packages.

IS KITESURFING DANGEROUS?

Before you start kitesurfing, you might be wondering whether it's a risky sport. Kitesurfing is classed as an extreme sport, but it's one that can be practised by everyone. We've all seen videos of kitesurfing accidents, but that doesn't mean it's a dangerous sport. However, it's important to be aware of the dangers to avoid accidents. Sidi kaouki is a safe beach for kitesurfing.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

Wind is the main element in kitesurfing, enabling the kite to fly. Such is the case of Essaouira: the city of wind. That's why it's important to check the weather forecast before taking to the water.

EQUIPMENT

Kitesurfing equipment can be a source of accidents. By choosing equipment that is not adapted to the weather conditions, a kitesurfer can cause an accident. For example, by sailing with an "overboiler", i.e. a kite that is too big in relation to the wind. The risk is that the kite generates too much power, and the danger is not being able to control it. It's also important to sail with equipment that's in good condition, and to take good care of it. Because even an advanced kiteboarder can have equipment problems: a line breaks in mid-ocean, the bladder deflates, the safety system jams.

NEVER SAIL ALONE

As mentioned above, it's unwise to ride alone, because even the most experienced kitesurfer is not immune to equipment problems. If you find yourself alone on a kite spot, you run the risk of having no one to help you in the event of a problem.

Welcome to OCEAN VIBES SCHOOL, where you can discover and practice kitesurfing.
